In this video we talk about the details to why people are so against the timed exclusivity deal between IO-Interactive and Epic Games for the release of HITM. As the PC version of Hitman 3 is a limited-time exclusive to the Epic Games Store, while the previous two games were on Steam, things were temporarily messy. Initially, IO Interactive announced that anyone who owned the previous games on Steam would have to pay to play them in Hitman 3 through EGS. Hitman 3 on Epic will now import your Steam purchases “at no additional cost” February 18, 2021 You can now import your Hitman 1 and 2 purchases on Steam to Hitman 3 on Epic for free. '9.5 / 10 The new episodic Hitman is one of Agent 47's greatest adventures to date and is one of the best stealth games to be released in years.' - Gaming Nexus '9 / 10 A triumph in both mechanics and delivery, Hitman turns its controversial episodic release model into a true strength that's suited to IO's vast and nuanced sandboxes.' I am sad, since i am a big hitman fan myself. But i will wait until it comes to steam. I have Hitman 1 and 2 on Steam, it is kinda stupid that 3 is not coming to Steam. There is nothing worse than fragmented collection.

Developer IO interactive has issued its long-awaited solution for Hitman 3 on PC, finally enabling players to import their Hitman 1 and 2 locations into the game at no additional cost.

It's a story that began last August, when IO announced PC players would be able to carry their Hitman 2 progression and unlocks over from Steam into Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store - and, more pertinently, that existing Hitman 1 & 2 owners would be able to import locations from those games into the series' third instalment at no extra cost via an Access Pass.

However, in January this year, a little over a week before Hitman 3's release, IO made a sudden U-turn, announcing that 'due to various circumstances out of our control, we want to acknowledge that the process is different to our initial plans for PC players'. Essentially, those who'd already purchased Hitman 1 and 2 on Steam would now need to repurchase those levels again as DLC in the Epic Games Store-exclusive Hitman 3.

Understandably, customers were unimpressed, and as criticism grew, IO backtracked on the matter, saying it would 'guarantee that players will not need to repurchase the games' and that a solution to the issue would arrive 'in the coming weeks'.

Exactly a month later, that solution is here, meaning owners of Hitman 1 or 2 on Steam can finally import their locations into Hitman 3 without needing to pay again, as initially promised. It's a three-step process, requiring customers to sign into their IOI Account via a web browser, link their Steam and Epic accounts, then claim their levels in the form of an Access Pass. Once that's done, all requested locations should automatically appear next time Hitman 3 is started.

Full details on the process can be found in IO's newly published Location Importing Guide.
